Glass & Fragile
Professionally packing glass and fragile items requires precision, high-quality materials, and expert handling to prevent breakage during transportation or storage. Whether it’s glassware, mirrors, chandeliers, or delicate ceramics, each item must be carefully wrapped and secured to withstand shocks, vibrations, and pressure changes.
The process begins with selecting the right protective materials. Bubble wrap, foam padding, and corrugated cardboard provide cushioning, while reinforced boxes add structural support. Glass and mirrors should be wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and covered with a rigid cardboard sheet to protect against impact. Anti-shatter film can also be applied to glass surfaces to prevent fragmentation in case of an accident.
For irregularly shaped fragile items, custom foam inserts or molded padding help secure them in place. When packing multiple glass items, separators such as dividers or cardboard inserts prevent direct contact, reducing the risk of scratches or cracks. Each box should be filled with packing peanuts or crumpled paper to eliminate empty spaces and prevent shifting.
Proper labeling is essential. Marking boxes with “Fragile” and “Handle with Care” ensures careful handling. Additionally, positioning glass items upright rather than flat reduces the risk of pressure cracks.
By using professional packing techniques, glass and fragile items can be safely transported or stored, arriving at their destination intact and undamaged.
